September 19, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

6 December 2017: Climate Change and International Development: what needs to be done?

December 2015 marked a high point of multilateralism when 190 countries came together in Paris and agreed to take action on climate change. More than ever action on climate change needs to be taken as extreme climate events become the norm and tipping points ever nearer but in 2017 increased political uncertainty has made progress on the Paris Agreement harder to implement. Sam Bickersteth will provide his perspectives on a future agenda for action in the wake of the latest UN climate talks concluding on Bonn on 17th November 2017. Sam will draws on his experiences from a career in international development and leading the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) over the past seven years. The lecture is part of the University of Greenwich Big Picture Lecture Series and it is co-organised by GPERC and FEPS.

Location: room SL101, University of Greenwich, Stephen Lawrence Building
Time: 17:00-19:00.

No booking is required by seating will be allocated in a first-come first-serve basis.
